The Tech Queens Network has officially been launched in Freetown, with the aim of empowering young girls and women to take advantage of technology, build their skills, and create more opportunities for themselves.
The official launch took place on September 12, 2026, at the Great Commission Hall, 4 Willoughby Lane, Brookfields, Freetown.
Speaking during the launching ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Tech Queens Network, Nathasha John, said the network focuses on mentorship, networking, and collaboration to help more women actively participate in the technology sector.
She said women and girls in the technology sector now have a new platform where they can connect, learn, and support one another.
Nathasha John further explained that her vision is to ensure that women and girls have a stronger place in the world of technology.
She said women should not only use technology, but should also have the skills to understand it, create with it, lead with it, and use it to transform their lives and communities.
She added that the network is creating a space where women can come together, learn about technology, build confidence, share knowledge, support one another, and discover new opportunities.
Speaking about the network’s first year of growth, John said that from September 2025 to September 2026, they have continued to build strong connections with other organisations working in technology, so that more women can benefit from technology skills,
She also encouraged young girls to dream beyond what they see around them and not allow their circumstances to determine the limits of their future.
Nathasha John urged women and girls to learn, ask questions about technology, explore, build, create, and innovate. She also encouraged them not to be afraid to take up space in places where important decisions about the future are being made.
She said she wants to see young girls designing technology, leading companies, and becoming engineers, developers, entrepreneurs, cybersecurity experts, data professionals, innovators, educators, and technology leaders.
