All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has announced donations totaling Le4 billion to farmers, traders and party members in Pujehun District, including Le1 billion earmarked for the rehabilitation of the APC district office.
The donations were announced on 31 October 2026 during a meeting with party members and other stakeholders at the APC Party Office in Pujehun District.
According to Jagaban, Le3 billion will support farmers, traders and ordinary APC members, while the additional Le1 billion will be used to rehabilitate the party’s district office.
Addressing the gathering, Jagaban said his leadership would prioritise addressing the economic and developmental challenges confronting individuals and communities across Pujehun District.
He pledged to support farmers and traders through financial assistance and development opportunities, while promising to provide farmers with essential agricultural tools and other resources to improve production.
He described agriculture as a critical sector for national development and food security, stressing the need to strengthen support for farmers.
On education, the APC flagbearer aspirant expressed concern about challenges facing Sierra Leone’s education system, noting that the situation continues to affect parents and school-going children. He pledged to work towards addressing those challenges.
Jagaban also urged residents of Pujehun District to participate in the ongoing census exercise, emphasising that reliable population data is essential for effective national planning and development.
Turning to party politics, he appealed to APC members to remain calm, united and focused, saying his ambition was to help the party regain power in the 2028 General Elections.
Responding to criticism about his ability to communicate in English, Jagaban maintained that language should not determine his capacity to lead the APC or serve the people.
He said his priority was to address the concerns of ordinary citizens and deliver meaningful support to communities rather than allow criticism of his language skills to distract from his political ambitions.
He further assured grassroots party members and women facing economic difficulties of his continued support, while calling on APC supporters nationwide to put aside internal differences and work together.
Jagaban said unity would be essential if the opposition party was to strengthen its position and secure victory in the 2028 elections.
During his visit to the district, Jagaban also officially opened a mosque in Sahn-Malen Chiefdom after residents appealed for help to improve the facility, which was reportedly in poor condition.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, he thanked members of the Muslim community and other stakeholders for giving him the opportunity to contribute to the mosque’s development.
He described supporting places of worship as a worthy cause and a blessing, adding that contributing to the construction and improvement of religious facilities was an important way of serving communities.
He subsequently donated Le5 million to the stakeholders responsible for managing the mosque.
The visit is part of Jagaban’s engagement with APC supporters and communities as he continues pursuing his ambition to become the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 General Elections.
