On May 14, 2024, the newly appointed Regional Crime Officer (RCO), ASP Mohamed H. Feika, met with investigators at the Kenema Police Division to bolster the fight against crime in the region. The SLP Media Unit-East reported that investigators from various units, both regional and divisional, participated in the meeting to foster collaboration and discuss strategies for enhancing security and combating criminal activities.
RCO Feika, who brings extensive experience from his previous roles as a crime officer in various divisions across Sierra Leone, emphasized the importance of professionalism and dedication in service delivery. He encouraged investigators to maintain effective case file management, including proper abstract report writing and record-keeping. He warned against delays in case handling, highlighting the potential damage to public trust and confidence in the police.
ASP Feika outlined his vision for a safer Eastern Region, which includes targeted operations, intelligence-driven policing, and capacity-building initiatives for the personnel. He assured the investigators of his full support and urged them to work diligently towards the goal of a crime-free society.
He also stressed the importance of regular updates on investigations to ensure timely attention from the Regional Commander, Commissioner Andrew M. Kamara. RCO Feika noted that, with the Commissioner’s support, similar meetings would be extended to other divisions under his jurisdiction.
