President Julius Maada Bio has officially invited Dr. Samura Kamara to partake in a National Unity and Peace Dialogue scheduled for Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, at State House.
The invitation, conveyed via formal correspondence, delineates the meeting’s objective, emphasizing key issues regarding the ongoing activities of the Tripartite Committee, particularly Resolution (3) of the Agreement for National Unity.
Resolution (3) established a Three-way Committee comprising representatives from the Government of Sierra Leone (GOSL), the All People’s Congress (APC), and Development Partners. Functioning since January 2024, this committee is mandated to operate for six months, with activities slated for completion by June 2024. With noted progress thus far, the forthcoming dialogue aims to address any remaining or emerging concerns, including deliberations on the proposal for an “Expanded Committee.”
The meeting will be attended by two lead negotiators, three co-chairs, and other committee members. The venue for this pivotal dialogue is the Conference Room at the Office of the Chief Minister, State House, Freetown, commencing at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024. Attendees are requested to confirm their participation with the Programme Assistant to the Chief Minister.
