President Julius Maada Bio has on the 5th May, 2026 held a productive meeting at State House with the Acting National Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC), Ambassador Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, alongside other senior representatives of the party’s various organs.
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen political dialogue and promote national cohesion at a time when collaboration across party lines remains critical to governance and development.
During the meeting, President Bio reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to sustaining open and constructive dialogue with the opposition. He emphasised that meaningful engagement between political actors is essential in addressing national challenges and advancing the collective interests of the Sierra Leonean people.
The President further emphasised the importance of unity, urging all stakeholders to prioritise the welfare of citizens above partisan differences. He noted that cooperation between the government and opposition parties plays a vital role in ensuring stability, peace, and progress across the country.
For their part, APC representatives, led by Ambassador Yansaneh, participated in discussions aimed at strengthening institutional relationships and enhancing mutual understanding between the ruling government and the main opposition party.
The meeting at the State House signals a renewed push towards inclusive governance, with both sides expected to continue engaging in efforts geared towards building trust, resolving differences, and working collaboratively in the national interest.
