In a successful operation on Friday, June 21, 2024, Sierra Leone police arrested two suspected drug traffickers from Foya, Liberia, at the Koindu Bendu border crossing in Kissi Tongi Chiefdom, Kailahun District. The suspects, identified as Joseph Banya, alias “F1 17,” and Morris Kamara, alias “Okeke,” were apprehended at approximately 3:00 pm while attempting to smuggle drugs into Sierra Leone.
Authorities discovered the pair in possession of 52 black plastic bags containing Kush, a commonly used recreational drug. The suspects were reportedly transporting the illegal substances from Liberia into Buedu, Sierra Leone. Police are investigating the extent of the drug trafficking operation and any potential links to organized crime networks.
