Sierra Leone Aquatics is thrilled to announce the continued success of one of the members of our junior swim team, the Baby Dolphins!
Fifteen-year-old athlete Peter J. Bewie, who made his debut for Sierra Leone at the Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Swimming Championships in Accra, Ghana last year, is showing rapid improvement in his development pathway. Currently training in the USA, Peter is one of the athletes being groomed to represent Sierra Leone in the 2026 Junior Olympics in Senegal.
This talented young athlete has been training hard and achieving impressive results. Last weekend, Peter competed in the Columbus, Ohio, Junior Swimming Championships hosted at the Tuttle Swimming Pool in Columbus. He took the following positions in his three events:
- 50m Freestyle: 32.79 seconds, securing 1st position.
- 50m Breaststroke: 44.03 seconds, securing 1st position.
- 50m Backstroke: 43.30 seconds, securing 2nd position.
Sierra Leone Aquatics is extremely proud of Peter and is excited to see what he will accomplish next!
