The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has honored Miss World Sierra Leone Mariam L. Konneh with a Brand Ambassador of Culture Award, recognizing her role in promoting Sierra Leone’s culture, heritage and national identity.
The award is part of the Ministry’s efforts to use influential Sierra Leoneans and public figures to project the country’s cultural heritage both locally and internationally.
With her growing international platform, Miss World Sierra Leone is expected to help showcase Sierra Leone’s traditions, tourism attractions, fashion, music and cultural identity to a wider audience.
The recognition also comes as Sierra Leone continues to position tourism and culture as important tools for economic growth, job creation and the promotion of the country’s image abroad.
The Ministry says the partnership will help strengthen efforts to tell Sierra Leone’s story through its people, culture and heritage.
For Miss World Sierra Leone, the honour places greater responsibility on her to represent the country beyond the pageant stage and to use her platform to promote the beauty and richness of Sierra Leonean culture.
