A woman who previously accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping her at a 2000 awards show afterparty, when she was 13, has amended her lawsuit to include new allegations against Jay-Z, claiming he participated in the assault.
Jay-Z denied the allegations, calling them “idiotic” and “heinous.” He also revealed that he had filed an anonymous lawsuit against the woman’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, accusing him of attempting to blackmail him with the rape claims in exchange for a settlement. Jay-Z said the letter from Buzbee’s firm only made him want to expose the lawyer publicly, declaring, “So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”
This litigation is part of a series of sexual assault lawsuits filed against Combs, who is facing federal sex trafficking charges. The woman, who is unnamed in the lawsuit, claims she was drugged at the party and later raped by Combs, Jay-Z, and another celebrity.
Buzbee, who represents over 120 individuals with allegations against Combs, denied the blackmail accusation, stating his firm only sought confidential mediation. He criticized Jay-Z for suing him and trying to intimidate the plaintiff.
In his statement, Jay-Z expressed heartbreak over the impact the allegations have had on his family, particularly on his children.
