The Minister of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Austin Demby, has broken ground for the construction of a new Faculty of Basic Sciences at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) in Kossoh Town, Freetown. This project underscores the government’s commitment to advancing medical education, research, and quality patient care.
The initiative is being executed by the Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), in collaboration with Tropical Environment Design Associates (TEDA) as consultants. Funding for the project comes from the Government of Sierra Leone and partners through the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Project.
Minister Demby urged the administration and students of the University of Sierra Leone to take ownership of the project and ensure its progress is closely monitored to meet its construction goals.
