FC Kallon Joins Inaugural Coal City Tournament in Nigeria

Sierra Leone Premier League side Kallon FC is set to travel to Nigeria to compete in the 2024 edition of the COAL CITY INTERNATIONAL CUP. The Cavaliers will face off against topflight clubs from various countries in the sub-region. Enugu, Nigeria, is preparing to host the inaugural edition of this prestigious international pre-season football tournament at the iconic Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. From August 1st to 11th, 2024, football enthusiasts will be treated to eleven days of thrilling matches, featuring top-tier talent from both Nigeria and beyond.

Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, a perennial force in Nigerian football, will headline the event as the host team. Alongside Rangers, the competition will feature three other Nigerian heavyweights: Remo Stars FC, Kanu Pillars FC, and Enyimba FC. These formidable domestic sides will compete against four international teams representing Sierra Leone, Kenya, Cameroon, and Ghana.

Joining the international fray is Sierra Leone’s FC Kallon, bringing their rich footballing history to the tournament. They will be joined by Kenya’s Gor Mahia FC and Cameroon’s Coton FC, each promising to elevate the competition with their distinctive styles of play.

Football fans can anticipate a pulsating atmosphere as Enugu transforms into a focal point of football fervor during the tournament. With Kallon FC and a diverse array of talents from across Africa converging on the pitch, the inaugural Coal City International Cup is poised to be a celebration of football excellence and camaraderie.
