Dr. Eldred Taylor, Deputy Minister of Energy, has swiftly installed a new transformer in Waterloo, just two weeks after the previous one malfunctioned. This rapid response reflects the government’s dedication to improving electricity access and infrastructure.
During the installation, Dr. Taylor emphasized the importance of a consistent power supply, noting that President Julius Maada Bio had personally directed him to expedite the replacement, which was completed in record time—well before the standard six-week period. He stressed that the quick installation underscores the government’s commitment to both urban and rural communities.
He urged residents and security personnel to safeguard the new transformer, emphasizing that the government remains responsive to community needs. “This quick action shows President Bio’s care for Waterloo and similar communities,” he said.
Local Unit Commander Joe Kamanda Bongay lauded the rapid response, highlighting the importance of electricity for police operations, particularly at night. He assured that steps would be taken to protect the new facility.
Councillor Abu Bockarie Konneh also expressed appreciation for Dr. Taylor’s dedication to the region, praising his role in securing the installation.
