His body was discovered in a room, with blood stains and a kitchen knife nearby, suggesting a tragic incident involving his throat being slashed. The deceased, identified as Ibrahim Bockarie, had returned to Benduma from Daru on Monday, June 10, 2024.

The elder brother of the deceased, Chief Lahai Bockarie, acting town chief of Benduma Jawei, disclosed in an interview on June 16, 2024, that Ibrahim had expressed concerns about being pursued and harassed by unknown individuals, alleging they accused him of severing ties with them. According to Chief Lahai, Ibrahim, who had been divorced for several years and separated from his child’s whereabouts, had experienced health challenges after an injury sustained while operating a power saw. Despite seeking treatment in Daru, Ibrahim’s mental and physical state reportedly worsened, prompting his return to Benduma.
