An estimated 1.5 million children under five will receive the third round of polio vaccines from September 27th to 30th across 14 districts in the country. The Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Agency (NPHA) held a press conference to raise awareness about the importance of vaccination against polio, a preventable disease that can cause lifelong paralysis.
The NPHA and its partners are working to ensure that every child is vaccinated and protected from the virus. Subsequent vaccination phases will target the Western Area Urban and Rural regions. The NPHA is urging parents to ensure their children are available for the vaccinations, contributing to polio eradication efforts in the country.
