UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy has signed bilateral agreements in Cape Town with South African Minister Ronald Lamola, aiming to strengthen trade and defense ties between the two nations. Lammy emphasized the UK’s support for African representation on the UN Security Council, expressing interest in the stance of other Security Council members, including Russia and China.
Lamola, affirming the UK’s significance as a partner, highlighted the “close bonds of friendship” between the countries but noted that trade and investment have slowed, partly due to the pandemic.
