The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced the reinstatement of the national U17 team in the ongoing WAFU U17 Tournament in Senegal following a successful appeal over MRI test results for five players.
CAF and WAFU conducted a second round of tests after Sierra Leone’s appeal, revealing that two of the five players met eligibility criteria under Article 27.4 of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations Regulations. This allowed the team to resume participation in the tournament.
The SLFA thanked the public and football fans for their support and praised CAF and WAFU for their professionalism. The team’s reinstatement is seen as a victory for fairness, and Sierra Leone is eager to see its young talents excel on the continental stage. SLFA wished the squad success in their upcoming matches.
