President Julius Maada Bio has called for strategic partnerships at the OpenAg Symposium at Oxford University on September 18, 2024. In his keynote address, he emphasized the urgent need for innovative solutions to tackle climate change’s impact on water and energy. He expressed Sierra Leone’s openness to collaborations for agricultural research to support the Feed Salone agenda and thanked the Oxford India Centre, UPL, and other partners for their contributions to agricultural development.
The 2024 OpenAg Symposium examined the links between food systems, energy, and water security within sustainable agriculture. It highlighted the role of agricultural practices in enhancing food and economic security while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The symposium brought together experts, policymakers, and practitioners to discuss strategies for improving resilience and sustainability in agriculture.
