In response, Hezbollah has vowed retaliation against Israel, with whom it has been engaged in ongoing skirmishes following the October 7 Hamas attack. The recent escalation has displaced tens of thousands of people in northern Israel and southern Lebanon.
The UN has condemned the explosions as “extremely concerning,” highlighting the growing risk of a broader regional conflict. The situation remains tense as both sides continue their exchanges of fire, raising fears of a full-scale war in the already volatile region.
