Orange Sierra Leone (OSL) and Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA) have long been committed to reducing their environmental footprint. Today, their employees are stepping up to the plate, actively participating in various ecological endeavors on International Environment Day through the newly launched Orange Engage for Change program. This initiative underscores OSL and OMEA’s dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR), aiming to make a positive impact on society and the environment while fostering team cohesion.
Recognizing the urgent need for meaningful action amidst climate events and societal shifts, Orange believes that employee engagement is crucial. The Orange Engage for Change program allows each employee to allocate three working days per year to projects with societal impact. The initiative’s web platform serves as a hub for discovering, sharing, and participating in societal projects, accessible to Orange Group employees and the general public alike. Leveraging the Orange Foundation and Orange Digital Centers network, the platform provides a structured framework and diverse opportunities for volunteer action
Concrete actions are already underway to demonstrate the platform’s impact. In Mali, 200 Orange employee volunteers are reforesting an urban park, while in Côte d’Ivoire, 150 employees are restoring 30 hectares of forest. Last year, OSL planted 3,000 trees, and this year, they partnered with international organizations for a beach cleaning exercise.
