Leone Rock Sponsors 2024/2025 Premier League with $150,000

Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) has reaffirmed its support for Sierra Leone football with a $150,000 sponsorship for the 2024/2025 Premier League season. The agreement, announced on November 22, 2024, at a ceremony in Freetown, highlights LRMG’s commitment to developing local talent and promoting unity through football.

LRMG’s Human Resource Director, Mohamed S. Daffae, emphasized the sponsorship’s role in nurturing young players and strengthening the league. He expressed pride in the league’s growth and the passionate fan base, stating, “This is a testament to our shared vision for football in Sierra Leone.”

Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), called the deal a milestone for Sierra Leone’s football, urging more private sector involvement. He also advocated for restructuring the league to ensure sustainability and professionalism.

Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President, Thomas Daddy Brima, praised the sponsorship, calling it a giant leap for football in the country. He also stressed the importance of collaboration to improve the national team’s performance and grow future sponsorships.

Leone Rock’s Chief Technical Officer, Salim Sillah, called for transparency and accountability in the league’s operations, urging for better financial management to attract more investments.

Minister of Sports, Augusta James Teima, highlighted the government’s ongoing commitment to sports as a driver of national development and expressed gratitude to Leone Rock for its support.

This partnership is seen as a crucial step in elevating Sierra Leone’s Premier League, inspiring growth and positioning the league for future success.
