High Court Sets Trial Date for Sia Murder Case

The High Court of Sierra Leone will oversee the trial of Abdul Kpaka, accused of the alleged murder of Sia Fatu Kamara. The case is scheduled for September 18th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

Initially heard by Magistrate Santigie Bangura at the Magistrate Court, the case was transferred to the High Court for expedited proceedings.

On September 6th, Justice Momoh Jah Stevens presided over the first High Court session, where State Prosecutor Yusuf Sesay presented the case. The judge officially changed Abdul Kpaka’s status from “Respondent” to “Accused” based on the prosecution’s submission. Sia was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Abdul Kpaka, on August 13th, 2024, in Freetown.
