Madam Fatmata Kargbo, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, along with her team and trade chairpersons, embarked on a public engagement in Freetown. Their mission: to address rumors circulating on social media urging traders to boycott business activities on June 17th, 18th, and 19th, 2024.

Madam Kargbo passionately debunked these rumors, labeling them as the work of unpatriotic individuals seeking to sow chaos. She called upon traders to ignore such misinformation and continue their daily operations without fear.

Reflecting on past incidents, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of learning from history to avoid falling prey to misinformation. She reiterated the government’s commitment to peace and security under President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s leadership.
