On Saturday, November 16, 2024, Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh and Minister of Trade, Alpha Sesay, joined by PRA Executive Director Baluwa Koroma, officially launched Aminata and Son’s Ltd., the first Liberian petroleum company in Sierra Leone.

The ceremony in Cline Town, Freetown, drew prominent figures, including Liberia’s Petroleum Refinery Board Chair, community chiefs, and key stakeholders.

Founded in Liberia over 40 years ago, Aminata and Son’s expanded into Sierra Leone in March 2024. The company has refurbished 13,000 metric tons of storage facilities and aims to create 500 jobs as operations grow.

“This investment will enhance our distribution network and boost local petroleum supply,” said PRA’s Baluwa Koroma.

Chief Minister Sengeh praised the company’s role in stabilizing petroleum supplies and supporting Sierra Leone’s energy needs.
