This weekend marks the final push for US presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump as they hold campaign rallies in crucial swing states. Saturday was the fourth consecutive day the two candidates visited the same state, underscoring the election’s tight focus on key regions.
In North Carolina, Trump vowed to restore the “American Dream,” claiming suburban Americans face threats from crime. “We will stop illegal immigration once and for all… We will be a free and proud nation once again,” he declared, promising to deport millions if elected. He warned that a Harris victory would lead to towns across America becoming “squalid, dangerous refugee camps.”
Meanwhile, Harris encouraged supporters to vote early, emphasizing her vision for a “new generation of leadership.” She promised affordable housing, healthcare, and protection for women’s reproductive rights. “Your vote is your voice and your voice is your power,” she stated at a rally in Charlotte, where she was joined by Kerry Washington and Jon Bon Jovi. Harris also made an appearance on Saturday Night Live to rally support.
Current national polls indicate a slight lead for Harris in this closely contested race.
