The National Youth Service (NYS) has reopened its application portal for the seventh batch on June 15, 2024. This initiative aims to support youth empowerment and employment by inviting graduates to apply for recruitment, training, and deployment in December 2024/25.
The NYS program targets young Sierra Leonean graduates aged 18 to 35, equipping them with essential skills for the competitive job market and personal development. Since its launch in 2018, the NYS has successfully recruited, trained, and provided internships to over 1,000 graduates, leading to full-time employment in both public and private sectors.
Participants in the NYS program undergo comprehensive training that includes leadership development, community service, and technical skills enhancement. This holistic approach not only prepares them for professional roles but also instills a sense of civic responsibility and community engagement. The program’s success stories highlight its role as a cornerstone for youth employment and national development in Sierra Leone.
The application process is straightforward, and interested candidates can apply online through the NYS portal. The application portal will remain open until October 31, 2024, allowing ample time for graduates to submit their applications and take the first step towards a promising career path.
