The Africa Investment Forum 2024 Market Days in Rabat, Morocco, concluded with $29.2 billion in new investor commitments after three days of intense boardroom discussions. The event, chaired by African Development Bank (AfDB) President Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, underscored Africa’s growing appeal for transformative investments.

Participation soared to 2,300 investors and delegates from 83 countries, a 60% increase from the previous year. Over 37 projects were presented across sectors like energy, agribusiness, pharmaceuticals, and urban infrastructure.

Dr. Adesina praised the Forum as a “global investment movement for Africa” that mobilizes resources to unlock the continent’s potential. Morocco’s Finance Minister Nadia Fettah Alaoui called it a “major catalyst” for Africa’s economic transformation and urged the diaspora to invest.

With commitments from 15 new sponsors, including banks and insurers, and reaffirmed support from founding partners like Afreximbank and the Development Bank of Southern Africa, the Forum has cemented its role as a driving force for Africa’s economic growth.
