Francis Ben Kaifala, Commissioner of the Sierra Leone Anti-Corruption Commission, has denied allegations of favoritism and hijacking the Sierra Leone Bar Association’s leadership election in favor of the announced winner, Mrs. Tuma Jento Kamara.
Kaifala refuted these claims in an interview with Voice of America following accusations from losing presidential candidate Wara Serry-Kamal, who alleged that the election was stolen with Kaifala’s assistance. Kaifala, a 17-year member of the Association, stated that he had every right to supervise the vote. He also acknowledged that, despite some challenges, the process was free and fair.
