Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met in Cairo on Tuesday, agreeing to enhance trade and investment cooperation while advocating for ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon.
The Egyptian presidency announced that the leaders signed an agreement aimed at stimulating and protecting mutual investments between their nations.
This meeting coincides with discussions of potential Saudi investments in Egypt. In September, Egypt’s prime minister revealed that Saudi Arabia was looking to invest $5 billion in the country, in addition to its deposits in the Central Bank of Egypt.
Key investment opportunities include two tourism development sites situated opposite Saudi Arabia. This investment initiative is crucial for Egypt, which is facing a severe economic crisis characterized by unprecedented inflation.
Additionally, the leaders addressed the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, calling for immediate actions to establish ceasefires in both regions.
