He stressed that the census will provide vital data for assessing development programs and tracking progress.

Reflecting on Sierra Leone’s history of censuses dating back to 1802, President Bio noted that the 2025 census will use Computer-Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI) for better accuracy. He assured that the government is committed to providing the necessary resources and will collaborate with international partners such as the UNFPA, UNECA, and USAID to ensure a smooth process.

Statistics Sierra Leone will oversee the census, which will run from December 2 to December 15, 2025, with December 1, 2025, designated as “Census Night.” President Bio urged all citizens to participate, emphasizing the census’s importance for the country’s development and prosperity.

He concluded by thanking the people of Sierra Leone and praying for the nation’s continued peace and progress.
